| Synopsis: |
This story is set in a Lancashire town in the 1930's. Albert Barlow is a comfortably off middle-aged bachelor. Since the death of his parents some years earlier Albert lives alone, quite content with only his cat for company. His only interests are drives out into the countryside, and reading crime stories where the villain always get caught, this leads him to devise a hypothetical perfect murder. Little did he realize that his drives in the countryside would lead him to enact his imaginary perfect murder. His motive was to relieve suffering. The tranquil existence of this lonely but contented man was turned upside down when he quite unexpectedly fell in love. At first he didn't know how to deal with this new situation but soon he was enveloped in the wonderful world of romance. But fate has some other surprises in store for these two. |
