| Synopsis: |
The isolated, rather gloomy village of Tongwyn is being threatened by increasingly violent storms; no ordinary storms but glittering storms, with glitter devils - swirling winds that glitter and destroy everything they touch. The villagers believe that the storms are magical in origin, and the village leader blames them on Suvonne, a women who moved to the village a few years earlier with her daughter Vikki, her son Garrian and their two pets, a cat called Whisper and a dog called Sasha. Though they are outwardly an ordinary family, the villagers sense something strange about them and their animals. After a particularly violent storm, Suvonne is accused of being a witch, and it is clear that unless the storms are somehow stopped, Suvonne and her family will be driven from the village. In desperation, her son Garrian sets out for the Haunted Hills, accompanied by the two animals, to try and find the fabled Castle of the Winds, where old tales tell of a place inhabited by magicians. Thus begins an adventure of peril and magic, of hope and setback, and of startling revelations about Suvonne's family and the events that took them to Tongwyn years earlier.Partly told through the diary or the magical cat, Whisper, the story recounts the perilous quest to find the source of the magical storms and destroy it. |
