This programme supports an integrated approach to learning to read and offers unhurried measured steps to learning to decode. The series consists of finely graded readers supported by Word Cards, Phonic Sets and Educational Games and resources on CD-ROM for primary school children with additional support needs. Speech Therapists have been closely involved with the development of the programme and each book has a Speech Therapist's script to support language development. The books use some direct speech to model spoken language. Children who are struggling to read, reluctant readers, children with Autistic Spectrum disorders, Down syndrome and those with a speech and language impairment have benefited from this programme. "The Red Series" comprises 16 readers of 16 pages. Topics covered by this title are: Animals, Toys, The Body, Dressing, Place, Everyday Items, Quantity, Personal Qualities, Home, Size, Describing Words, Social Words, Outside, Meal and Snacks and Transport.
