Synopsis: |
I was born in Eastham on the Wirral where I have lived for most of my life. After grammar school I went to commercial college and worked as a secretary followed by a few years as an insurance agent. In the 70s I started to write stories and had several broadcast on local radio. I was always attracted to poetry - particularly rhyming poems - and encouraged by my late husband I began to write poems in 2001 which were accepted and appeared on different websites. In 2002 my own web site - www.mariansworldofpoetry.com - called Words of Life was created and I soon had a long list of subscribers. From then on I started to find that I was inspired by many things in life and putting my thoughts into words seemed to come very naturally. My book is a mixture of poems on various subjects; love, friendship, inspiration, nature, spirituality and many other aspects of life. I receive many requests from people to use my religious poetry in newsletters and church magazines. I also write for e-mail greeting card sites such as Castle Mountain and 2000greetings.com. |
