Synopsis: |
Barbara Green is a registered general and psychiatric nurse, a state certified midwife and qualified district nurse. She has been in the profession for forty years and has recently retired. She has two daughters and one granddaughter and is interested in local history and animal welfare. Jean Wilkinson has worked in district nursing for over twenty years as a nursing auxiliary with top level NVQ qualifications. She has two daughters and three grandchildren and is interested in horticulture, organic farming and travel. Barbara and Jean have worked together on and off in district nursing for several years. Together they have collected many stories of both amusing and sad situations from their colleagues and other nurses, as well as from their own experiences. Together Jean and Barbara have compiled "Ladies of the Night", a snapshot of how the real district nurses operate in the modern day, based on these anecdotes."Ladies of the Night" presents a picture of modern day district nursing, which is a long way from the beloved but outdated lady on the bike! |
