On the 4th July 2004, the Venice Biennal published a tender for the international competition to design a new cinema palace for Venice. On 26th May 2005, it was announced that 5+ 1AA and Rudy Ricciotti had won the competition. The new cinema palace is among the buildings designed to celebrate 150 years of Italian unity in 2011. This book explores the concept and development of 5+ 1AA and Rudy Ricciotti's design. In August 2008 building work began, and in 2011 Venice will have its new cinema palace. |
