The volume explores current theoretical perspectives on gender and translation, focuses on the debate on gender and language, investigates some examples of translatresses' work and proposes practices of translation by women, analysing the complexities in translating "transgender" characters in fiction and the representation of gender roles in cinematographic adaptations of novels.
