Synopsis: |
This volume is part of an encyclopaedic reference which deals with inorganic and organometallic chemistry. All volumes in Part C of the series cover the compounds and systems of the rare earth elements with boron. Main subjects of the present volume C 11B are the systems and borides from Ce to Lu, the rare earth borates, alkali borates and hydroborates. Sub-sections deal with alkali lanthanum hexaborides, scandium and europium halogenide borates, rare earth boride nitrides and scandium boride halogenides. CeB6, SmB6, and EuB6 are the most extensively studied borides treated in the present volume. The sections on alkali rare earth borates deal mainly with their preparation, crystallographic properties and optical properties. |
