Die diffuse sekundare Peritonitis ist eine unverandert ernst zu nehmende schwere Erkrankung. Zur Behandlung der Peritonitis stehen heute sehr viele therapeutische Massnahmen zur Auswahl. Bei der Fulle der empfohlenen Therapieformen in der Chirurgie und insbesondere in der Intensivmedizin, fallt es schwer, die effektivste Therapie auszuwahlen. Neben der Herdsanierung eroffnet die antibakterielle Chemotherapie zusatzliche Moglichkeiten, die verursachenden Keime direkt anzugehen. An der Vergleichbarkeit von Antibiotikastudien, insbesondere bei der sekundaren Peritonitis, muss gezweifelt werden. Es fehlt sowohl an der genauen Definition der Peritonitis und des Schweregrades der Erkrankung als auch an einer einheitlichen Definition des Therapieerfolges. Neue und alte Therapiekonzepte mussen aufgrund der Erkenntnisse der letzten Jahre uberpruft werden. Das Buch mochte die Wertigkeit der antibakteriellen Chemotherapie bei der Peritonitisbehandlung anhand von Fakten beleuchten und eine Standortbestimmung fur heute ubliche Therapieformen vornehmen. |
