From 1945-1950, Kubrick worked as a photo-reporter for Look magazine, documenting daily life in post-war America through pictures of ordinary people as well as the famous personalities of the time. As a photographer, Kubrick showed an astonishing ability to 'read' the world with a unique style and critical sense, echoing the visionary freedom which would later characterize his films.
