Attitudes of the general public are affecting the future of biotechnology. As consumers, workers, residents, or opinion formers, the public has expressed a wide range of views, particularly on the subject of genetic engineering. This report draws together the results from recent studies in European Community countries to identify key areas of public interest and concern. Implications for the future are discussed based on a review of these results. |
