There follow chronological reviews of Nubia's art and architecture, chapters on cultural aspects such as religion, burial practices, texts, daily life, costume and pottery. The second half of the book consists of a gazetteer of sites, following the course of the Nile from North to South: descriptions of the archaeology are accompanied by plentiful plans and photos as well as notes on the history of their excavation. |
