The Heritage Protection Bill is a draft UK Parliament Bill designed to reform and unify the terrestrial and marine heritage protection systems in England and Wales. It proposes that provisions be made regarding the protection of heritage, including: duty to keep heritage registers for England and Wales; and duty to have regard to registered heritage structures and open spaces in exercise of planning functions.The draft Bill is divided into six parts: Heritage Registration; Control of Works and Prevention of Damage to Registered Heritage Structures; Other Effects of Registration; Marine Heritage Licences; Historic Environment Records; and General. The draft Bill also contains two Schedules: Inviting Representations: Appropriate Persons; and, Revocation or Modification of Consent: Assessment of Certain Compensation. |
