Synopsis: |
A complaint was made that Mr Tredinnick, MP for Bosworth, had produced a leaflet, funded from his communications allowance, which breached the rules on such publications because it included photographs of named Conservative politicians who were shortly to stand for elective office. The Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards had investigated (his memorandum to the Committee is appended to the report) and found extensive use of photographs of Mr Tredinnick and others, including local and national politicians. The Commissioner has upheld the complaint and the Committee endorses that decision. Mr Tredinnick has apologised and the Committee recommends he repay GBP 1,495, half the cost of printing and distributing the newsletter. |
