Doch, auch indem ich dieses niederschreibe, Schon warnt mich was, daB ich dabei nicht bleibe. Mir hilft der Geist! auf einmal seh' ich Rat Und schreibe getrost: ,1m Anfang war die Tat!'" Als ich in hohem Alter und durch Krankheit schwer behindert den EntschluB faBte, mich noch einmal wie schon so oft zuvor an das Aliergieproblem heranzuwagen, kamen mir diese Verse vor Augen, die Goethe seinen Faust sprechen laBt, und es eroffnete sich mir die Ein. sicht, daB auch ich nichts anderes, vielieicht auch nichts Besseres tun konnte, als yom Wort zum Sinn, yom Sinn zur Kraft und von der Kraft zur Tat fortzuschreiten.
