Durch Fortschritte in der Intensivtherapie haben heute auch Patienten mit schwersten Grunderkrankungen oder vital bedrohlichen Verletzungen eine deutlich verbesserte primare Uberlebenschance. Im Verlauf der haufig langfristig notwendigen Intensivtherapie kommt es bei diesen Patienten jedoch oftmals zu Funktionseinschrankungen oder Ausfallen eines oder mehrerer Organsysteme, ohne dass eine organspezifische Grunderkrankung als auslosende Ursache festzustellen ware. In dem vorliegenden Buch wird eine erste Bestandsaufnahme und Standortbestimmung zum Thema Einzelorganinsuffizienz und Multiorganversagen in der Intensivmedizin vorgenommen. Die Organinsuffizienz kann unabhangig von der Grundkrankheit auftreten, d.h. die notwendige Diagnostik und Therapie geht uber den Rahmen der fachspezifischen Betrachtung hinaus. Im Vordergrund der Diskussion stehen die Organe Niere, Leber, Lunge, Gehirn und das Herz-Kreislauf-System, wobei dem Multiorganversagen und den Auswirkungen einzelner Organinsuffizienzen auf die Infusions- und Ernahrungstherapie gezielte Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet wird. |
