Synopsis: |
Building a New World: Luce Irigaray: Teaching II is a culmination of the most recent (2006-12) annual seminars conducted by Luce Irigaray in the UK. Together with seminar participants and her collaborators, Irigaray endeavors to imagine the outlines of a more just, ecologically attuned world that flourishes on the basis of sexuate difference. Besides the presence of political concerns, especially the thinking of terrorism, the texts gathered in this collection focus on constructing interrelations between sexes and generations, but also between countries, cultures and traditions. Jointly, these texts suggests that a new world is possible and that women's perspectives are crucial for its construction. |
