Description: |
Conway are proud to introduce Shipwright, the first volume of the new international annual for ship modellers. |
Synopsis: |
Conway are proud to introduce Shipwright, the first volume of the new international annual for ship modellers. The new format sees the introduction, for the first time, of full colour photography, a major step forward in presenting step-by-step building and construction guides for featured vessels. Yet the annual preserves the mixture of articles, reviews, news and comment from model-makers worldwide that made its predecessor, the Model Shipwright journal, such a respected publication. Shipwright will similarly provide a wealth of detailed information on various techniques and practices, encompassing carved, template, plank-on-bulkhead and plank-on-frame construction methods. Both full-hull and waterline models of historical naval and maritime vessels (including pleasure craft and working ships like tugboats) will feature, and the range of articles will cover all major modelling scales. The annual is additionally enhanced with accurate plans, clear diagrams and many colour photographs. Moreover, the detail and quality that established the MS Journal as a leading publication in the field will be preserved, as Model Shipwright's experienced editorial team remain at the helm of the new annual. The Shipwright annual is part of an exciting new project intended to cater to a far greater range of ship model enthusiasts, addressing readers' general comments and the feedback that was recently received as part of Model Shipwright's questionnaire. This will culminate in the launch of a new initiative; a specialist website for 2010. This comprehensive resource will incorporate an online gallery, upcoming news and events, feedback, links and online ordering pages, and a downloads section for registered users that will enable purchase of modelling plans. |
