"Forms and Movements" comprises a suite of seventy panel paintings from Philip James Studio made on 15th November '01. Maintaining a uniform dimension the series explores movements and conflicts within a thirty centimetre square. Following a base colour sequence of black, blue, red, yellow, green and white, swept and striated layers develop a dynamic arena of different pressures; of density, vacancy, confinement and release. |
