Synopsis: |
This handbook discusses good practice principles for methodology and data systems relating to gathering statistics on rural development and agricultural household income, focusing on key issues such as coverage, identifying data gaps, data acquisition, structure and standardisation. The Inter-Secretariat Working Group on Agriculture and Rural Indicators (which includes representatives from participating organisations including the UNECE, OECD, FAO and Eurostat) set up a Task Force in 2003 to develop the handbook, and this Task Force has been designated the 'Wye Group' following on from the catalysing effect of a workshop held in the Wye campus of Imperial College in Kent in 2002 and a subsequent meeting of the Task Force held there in 2005. |
