This Action Plan, "Youth Alcohol Action Plan (Cm. 7387)", from the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF), The Home Office, and the Department of Health sets out the Government's aim of addressing the problem of teenage drinking in three ways: to work with the police and courts to stop drinking by young people under 18 in public places; to develop clearer information and guidance on the effects of the consumption of alcohol for parents and young people and deal with irresponsible parents in this matter; and to work with the drinks industry to strengthen standards that govern the selling of alcohol to young people and the way drinks are marketed and promoted. This document sets out the Government's conclusions and the action that will be taken and was part of the Government's commitment as set out in "The Children's Plan - Building Brighter Futures (Cm. 7280)" (ISBN 9780101728027, available below). It also includes a Call for Views response form, with replies required by 7 July 2008. |
