This early experience provided the talented young rapper with a deep understanding of the 'gangsta' lifestyle, which he was able to clearly express in his lyrics.Tupac was an artist, and his lyrics spoke from the heart. While glorifying the gangsta life he also rapped about the poverty, drug abuse, and crime that hold down many young blacks who live in the inner cities. His brief career as a rap and film star was overshadowed by violent behavior, numerous brushes with the law, imprisonment, and his involvement in the deadly East Coast-West Coast rap rivalry that ultimately cost the hip-hop star his life. |
