"Lucid Professional" is a powerful but simple system that enables you to construct and view interactive identification keys to almost anything. The Windows programme consists of two modules: the Builder and the Player. You can use the Lucid Builder for designing and building identification keys for any group of organisms or array of material. The Lucid Player is used for interactively identifying material with the key you have created. Lucid keys can be created in a wide range of fields and for a variety of purposes. Identification keys have been created for many different types of organisms, including aquatic invertebrates, tree species and apple cultivars. An identification key to mineral types has been developed. Diagnostic keys have been created for such things as crop disease and mouth ulcers. Lucid keys are powerful but easy to use and material can be illustrated in HTML and with pictures, sounds and videos; keys can be published on the Web or on CD-ROM. Data are rich; common or rare, discrete or numeric, and keys can be created in a hierarchy. Errors in identification can easily be corrected or tolerated.This new version of "Lucid Professional" supports HTML, giving you limitless opportunities for describing and illustrating your material. "Lucid Professional" is now web-capable, so you can serve your keys to the world via a web-server, or you can distribute them on CD. The new Lucid Player is available in two versions: Lucid Player Plus, with the full power of all of the Player features; and Lucid Player Standard, a freeware version, allowing you to make your keys available for free. The new Lucid Builder operates much faster and allows HTML editing and spreadsheet scoring. Many Lucid keys have been published successfully - join the Lucid revolution! |
