Synopsis: |
Paul Collins was researching the life of Peter the Wild Child, a feral boy favored by George I, when he came to the conclusion that Peter's was the first documented case of what is now known as autism. At the same time, Paul's two year old son, Morgan, was diagnosed with the condition. "Not Even Wrong" presents other historical cases of autistic inventors, eccentrics, musicians and artists interspersed with a moving description of how Paul and his wife learn to interact with their son. As a history of what is considered a modern condition, "Not Even Wrong" is fascinating, and as a memoir portraying the love of a troubled child, it is unique and exceptionally moving. |
